NEWS and announcements:
June 2026:
- We spent the first week of June in Kentucky on the set of "The Malakai." We said it would be unlike anything you've seen before...and now that WE have seen it, all we can say is WOW! The cast and crew are absolutely incredible and the makeup and practical FX will blow people away. Daniel John Kearney has put together an amazing team and an amazing film.
- Big news coming soon on another project that Stag Mountain films will be a part of. We are really excited about this one, so stay tuned!
May 2026:
- We were on-set for the final day of filming "Crimzon Harvest." This horror film is directed by Xander Goldman, who also stars, along with Felissa Rose, Robert Mukes, Celia Spero, Lew Temple, Angel Nichole Bradford and more! Look for a release in the fall of 2026!
- Filming begins in Kentucky in early June on "The Malakai." Almost anything we say will give away too much, but let's just say it's unlike anything you've seen before in indie horror. It will be absolutely terrifying and we can't wait to begin filming!
April 2026:
- We spent a week on the set of "The Itinerant" and can't wait for everyone to see it. It's a dark, gritty and sometimes disturbing look at abuse, pain, and horror. Daniel John Kearney - who also directed - did an amazing job bringing his character, Dean, to life. The film is now in post-production and we will provide updates as they are available.
- "Uncle Fred's Monster Problem" has begun filming! This movie is directed by Dave Kerr, the man behind such classics as "Bloody Summer Camp," "The Slasher Nurse" and "Go Away." This new film is a horror-comedy and stars Brian Bremer ("Pumpkinhead"). The film is just a couple of days into production and there's already plenty of blood and gore to satisfy even the most jaded horror fans! Stay tuned for updates!
March 2026:
- Lots of exciting news this month! We are thrilled to announce that we will be part of "The Itinerant," the directorial debut of well-known horror actor and producer Daniel John Kearney. This film, written by Kearney and BJ Mezek, involves an eccentric man who is lost in time and reintroduced into a community he was taken from 30 years prior. "The Itinerant" stars Kearney, Mezek, Hannah Fierman, Chanda Rawlings, and more, and starts filming in April. Click here for more information, courtesy of Rue Morgue.
- We are excited to announce the start of the Kickstarter campaign for "The Malakai!" This film will be unlike anything you've seen before in indie horror. February 2026:
- "Ever After" - the bloodiest fairy tale - is raising funds for festival submissions. The film stars Malcolm McDowell, Kane Hodder, Mark Sheppard, Bonnie Aarons & Michael Berryman. This is a great opportunity to get involved with a film that is COMPLETE - no waiting around and wondering if/when it'll shoot. January 2026:
- Happy New Year! We will have a lot of exciting news to report in 2026...but not quite yet. We are waiting for official announcements to be made before we post here, so be patient - it will be worth the wait! In the meantime, we will be more actively promoting other projects that we are involved with, even if it's not under the Stag Mountain Films banner.
